A Note About Sublingual Immunotherapy For Food Allergy
Food allergy treatments are subject to a great deal of research both here and in Europe and one of the treatments which is gaining some favor is sublingual immunotherapy as drops given under the tongue. This form of therapy however is not yet FDA approved. Other forms of food allergy challenges on the other hand are not safe. They should be performed as research exercises until the safety profile can be improved.
In addition, currently there is a promising study utilizing Chinese herbs at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City which will be reporting in July of 2013. This is provided for information only.
